Cheekychops

When my daughter was born, she wasn’t sleeping through the night. Needing some guidance, I contacted Cheekychops for sleep and parenting consulting and support. I was later hired to help Dawnn rebrand her company.

CheekyChops was one of the first sleep consultants in Vancouver. Dawnn spent many years building her business. Many of those who are now her competitors have copied her look and business model and she then began to look similar to all of the others. This sparked her desire to rebrand, to differentiate herself and to review her communication strategy. She also wanted to offer products and services for people who wanted to ‘do it themselves.’

Having defined that there were four variants of the primary target audience (depending on the age of the child and services required) we looked at what made them tick, how they best communicated (in-person versus online) and what was their specific and current pain.

To gain an accurate insight into the business, I led a four-hour brand discovery session with Dawnn to get a genuine insight into the company. Based on this in-depth understanding, we were able to develop the following:

WHAT
Sleep and parent consulting.

HOW
Knowledge. Tools. Accountability.

WHY
Enabling parents to build their confidence results in connected and happy families.

This ‘why’ completely changed how the company communicated. No longer was it all about cute babies, etc., it was also about the parents and their needs: building their confidence, knowing their baby was sleeping, and them feeling they were now ‘doing it right.’ This new direction instantly separated Cheekychops from their competition and had them viewed as experts and trustworthy.

From there, we started to design a newer clean, modern logo with the personality of the sleeping eyes. Stationery, website, trade show banners, marketing materials, corporate giveaways, e-newsletter, and operations manuals all followed.
